- Will the information I provide be kept private?
Yes. When you begin the on-line application form, you will be assigned a Login ID and Password. You should record the Login ID and Password immediately. You MUST have the Login ID and Password in order to return to your saved application later. Without both of these tools, you will not be able to access your saved information.
- Should I telephone to verify that my request has been received?
Once you have completed your application, you will receive an e-mail within 30 minutes to confirm receipt of your request. You will continue to receive additional e-mails updating you in timely intervals on the status your request. So, phone follow-up is not required.
- How can I be sure that my request is being reviewed?
We have adopted an online application process is to ensure that ALL requests re reviewed. By having a single, web-based entry point, Nora's Gift Foundation ensures that all requests are reviewed, evaluated and responded to in a timely manner.
- I prefer the personal touch. Why can't I explain my proposal in person?
We have created the online application process to ensure that every proposal is assessed on its merits and in fair and consistent manner. If we determine that your request is aligned with our goals the Foundation, we will contact you to hear more about your organization.
- Our organization doesn't have a computer. Can we still make a request?
Yes. To make a request, all that is required is access to an Internet-connected computer. If your organization does not have one, we encourage you to use the computer of a board or staff member, a volunteer, a friend, or a neighbour. Also, libraries and community centres often provide Internet access. Our online application process, however, does require that you have an e-mail address. It is through this address that we will notify you of the ongoing status of your request. If you need an e-mail address, there are numerous online services that provide them free (eg. www.yahoo.com or www.hotmail.com). You can then access your e-mail addresses from any Internet-connected computer.
- I'm not comfortable with computers. How can I make use of the online application form?
Our online application form is very simple and easy to use. Our online form is similar to a paper-based form; instead of writing or circling a choice, you use your mouse and keyborad to point, select or type in reponses. - Can I complete part of the form now and return to it later?
Yes. When you begin the on-line application form, you will be assigned a Login ID and Password. You should record the Login ID and Password immediately. - How do I save an application once I have started it?
You may save your application by clicking the "Submit Application" option on the last page of the form. If you exit the form without clicking the "Save changes" option or if your computer or browser malfunctions before you click the "Save changes", option some information may be lost.
- I have my Login ID and Password. How do I get back to my saved application?
To return to your saved on-line application, open the application form in the same way as you did the first time. Then, enter your unique email address and Password in the appropriate fields and click "Login". This will automatically open your previously started application form.
- I saved an application but I have decided to start a new one. Is this a problem?
No. Simply click on "I am new to Nora's Gift Foundation and would like to Start an Application" when you open the application form and the system will erase your previously saved application form.
- I lost (or forgot to record) my Login ID and Password. can I get back to my saved application?
If you remember your email address you may contact us to have your password reset. If you have forgotten your email you cannot retrieve your application. You must start a new application form from the beginning.
- This online application form takes some time to complete. Is it worth the effort?
Yes. The online application form can be completed in 30 minutes or less. For this modest investment of time and effort, the important information provided will enable Nora's Gift Foundation to assess your application. Once you have completed the form, you can print a copy of the provided information for your files.
- Our organization does not have an e-mail address. The application form will not let me proceed without entering one. What do I do?
We require an e-mail address to keep you informed of the status of your request. If your organization does not have an e-mail address, there are numerous online services that can provide them free (eg. www.hotmail.com or www.gmail.com). You can then access your e-mail addresses from any Internet-connected computer.
- When will I hear if my request has been approved?
When you submit a request via the online application process, you will receive an e-mail notification within 30 minutes confirming that Nora's Gift Foundation has received it. A follow up e-mail will be sent to you to notify you of the status of your request prior to the next deadline.
